Wicked was founded on the belief of the Elements of Air, Earth, Fire, Water. It is unknown who the Founders are, or what kind of theory they based this School of Magic on, but the Wizarding world started hearing about The Canadian Institute Of Magic around the years 1804. It is also known where it is truly situated since it seems to have magically enhanced tunnels that lead to every major city in Canada.
Unlike Hogwarts, who have the Hogwarts Express, Wicked has these tunnels leading to a small island where from the highest tower point all you see is water around you. Their was never a bloodline feud, but there has always been a certain rivalry between the houses to see who would come on top during Quidditch match or to win the house cup.
But not unlike Hogwarts, Wicked had it's own war with Dark Wizard. Voldemort had followers as far and wide as Canada ready to do his bidding. When the Dark Wizard was killed, in 1998, it didn't end the terror reign. Dark Wizards still roam the Canadian Wizarding World, in search for a new leader.
The four houses of Wicked are the followings:
- Air, also known as A'ris, are spontaneous, they change their mind often, they are always on the go, and in need of lots of change to feel comfortable in their life and their environment. They rarely stop long enough 'to smell the roses' because to them that sort of thing is boring. They are always on the lookout for something fun to do or an adventure to go on. They rarely get into conflicts because they are fleeting.
- Earth, also known as Terrae, are the complete opposite of the A'ris house. They are reliable, solid, grounded, even tempered but they sometimes can be very opinionated and head strong when it comes to their decision. They have a personality that is almost impossible to change, and when it comes to conflict they stand their ground and aren't afraid to fight for what they believe in.
- Fire, also known as Ignis, are passionate, have a lively personality and a fiery temper. They are quick to make decisions, and dislike being told they are wrong. They like to debate, and they are not afraid of conflict to the point that they may even provoke it.
- Water, also known as Aqua, are the complete opposite to the Ignis house. They have a calm energy to them. They enjoy spending their time with a good book, or star gazing or learning new things. They like to go with the flow of things and not to make waves. They don't like fights or any other type of conflict. They are rather passive and would rather flee a conflict than to face it head on.
The sorting ceremony takes place on the very first night of each term. Again, unlike Hogwarts, who have a magically enhance hat, Wicked's sorting is a little different. Before getting accepted to Wicked, children must past a series of test determining which house would suite them best. With their result in hand they have then right to chose which house they want to be in even if it defers from their results. From there, they are sent with their respective house, where they have another series of test, chosen by older members of said houses, to determine their competences and their connection with their chosen element. Hazing is not tolerated and the test chosen by older members of each houses most be adapted to fit each and every ones needs, from 1st year to 7th year.
